Hair Treatment for Coloured & Bleached Hair

Yes, you can smooth coloured or bleached hair — but not with a straightening treatment alone. Colouring and bleaching weaken the internal bonds that hold hair together. Applying 200°C heat to that without bond protection is the single most common cause of post-treatment breakage. The fix is straightforward, and it is not optional.

What colouring actually does to hair

To deposit colour, the process has to open the cuticle and — with bleach — dissolve some of the natural pigment inside. That means breaking a proportion of the disulphide bonds that give hair its strength.

The hair still looks fine afterwards. Structurally it is weaker, and that weakness only becomes visible when you add stress: heat, tension, or another chemical service.

This is why bleached hair often breaks during a smoothing treatment rather than during the bleaching itself.

Bond protection is the answer

W Two Plex works during the treatment to protect and help rebuild those bonds while heat is being applied. It is not a straightener and does nothing on its own — it is used alongside W One.

For anyone with coloured or bleached hair, the W One + W Two Plex Combo (PKR 13,180) is the correct purchase. Buying W One alone and skipping the protection is where things go wrong, and it is a false economy.

Timing: colour first, then smooth

Colour before you smooth, not after. A smoothing treatment can lighten or shift fresh colour, and colouring after a treatment stresses hair that has just been through heat.

Recommended spacing:

  • Colour → wait 2 weeks → smoothing treatment. Two weeks lets the colour settle and the cuticle close.
  • Bleach → wait at least 2 weeks, ideally 3–4. Longer if hair feels at all fragile.
  • Smoothing → wait 2 weeks before colouring if you must do it in that order.

When to repair instead

If your bleached hair already snaps when stretched, feels gummy when wet, or has visible breakage, do not smooth it at all yet — bond protection reduces risk but does not eliminate it on hair that is already failing.

Use Bluetox Taninoplastia to rebuild first, give it 8–12 weeks, and reassess. Our damaged hair guide includes a simple strand test to judge where you are.

Whatever you do, wash with sulfate-free shampoo — sulfates strip colour noticeably faster.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do nanoplastia on coloured hair?

Yes, but you must use a bond protector such as W Two Plex alongside it. Colouring weakens internal hair bonds, and applying heat without protection is the main cause of post-treatment breakage.

Can I do nanoplastia on bleached hair?

Yes if the hair is still structurally sound — it should stretch without snapping. Use W One with W Two Plex. If hair already snaps or feels gummy when wet, repair with Bluetox first.

Should I colour my hair before or after a smoothing treatment?

Colour first, then wait about two weeks before the smoothing treatment. Smoothing can lighten fresh colour, and colouring straight after a treatment stresses hair that has just been heat-treated.

How long should I wait after bleaching to do a treatment?

At least two weeks, ideally three to four, and longer if your hair feels fragile. Always use bond protection when you do.

Does nanoplastia fade hair colour?

It can lighten fresh colour slightly, which is why colouring first and waiting two weeks is recommended. Using sulfate-free shampoo afterwards helps colour last considerably longer.

What is W Two Plex for?

It is a bond protector used during a smoothing treatment to protect and rebuild the internal bonds weakened by colouring or bleaching. It does not straighten hair on its own.
