Nanoplastia for Thick Hair
Thick hair is lovely until you have to dry it, straighten it and stop it doubling in size by lunchtime. It’s also the hair type where people most often underestimate the job. Nanoplastia works very well on thick hair, taming volume and frizz for months. You just need enough product, thin sections and a bit of patience.

Thick hair has more strands and often coarser ones. Each strand swells a little in humid air, and together that becomes a lot of volume and frizz.
Nanoplastia smooths and seals each strand so it absorbs less moisture. The hair sits flatter, feels lighter and keeps its shape through the day. People with thick hair often notice drying time drops a lot too, which is a nice bonus.
You’ll need more product than you think
This is the most common mistake on thick hair. A 120 ml bottle that’s plenty for fine shoulder-length hair won’t cover a thick, long head properly, and running short halfway gives patchy results.
For thick hair, start with W One Nanoplastia 1000 ml. It covers the job comfortably and leaves enough for your next treatment, which works out much cheaper per application.
Tips for an even result
- Thin sections. Around 1 cm. Thick sections won’t heat through evenly.
- Dry fully before ironing. Thick hair holds water in the middle of each section.
- Coarse hair can take up to 230°C on the iron. Fine or coloured hair should stay nearer 200°C.
- Get help for the back. Or have a stylist apply the product you’ve bought.
- Allow the time. Ironing thick hair properly can take over an hour.

If you like the volume but not the frizz
Not everyone with thick hair wants it flatter. If you want to keep body and fullness but lose the frizz and dryness, Bluetox is a gentler choice. It smooths and hydrates without straightening.
If your thick hair is coloured, go for the W One + W Two Plex Combo. Afterwards, use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.

Frequently asked questions
Is nanoplastia good for thick hair?
Yes. It reduces volume and frizz and makes thick hair easier to manage and quicker to dry. It usually needs more product and more time than finer hair.
How much nanoplastia do I need for thick hair?
More than for fine hair of the same length. The 1000 ml bottle is recommended for thick hair so you do not run short and get patchy results.
Will nanoplastia reduce hair volume?
Yes, it noticeably reduces puffiness and volume by smoothing each strand. If you want to keep volume and only lose frizz, Bluetox is better.
What iron temperature is best for thick hair?
Coarse, thick hair can usually take up to 230°C. Keep it nearer 200°C if the hair is fine, coloured or damaged.
How long does nanoplastia take on thick hair?
Longer than average. Ironing alone can take over an hour, because the hair needs thin sections to heat evenly.
